Beginners Guide: How to Connect to Your FTP Account Using FileZilla

To connect, you need the FTP host, your username and your password. cPanel shows them under Files › FTP Accounts › Configure FTP Client.

Quick connect

1. Open FileZilla.
2. In the bar at the top, enter the Host (for example ftp.yourdomain.com), Username, Password and Port 21.
3. Click Quickconnect. The first time, accept the server's certificate.

Your computer's files are on the left and the server's files on the right. Your website is in public_html.

Tip: To save the connection with encryption settings, use File › Site Manager instead; see "Configuring your website in FileZilla".
