Windows Server on a KVM VPS

A Windows VPS gives you a full Windows Server desktop in the cloud. Use it for Windows-only business software, .NET and IIS websites, or as a remote workspace you can reach from any device.

Microsoft’s minimum for Windows Server 2025 is 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended with the desktop) and 32 GB of disk. Our Windows plans start at 4 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 200 GB NVMe, so the desktop, updates and your applications have room to run.

Windows Server allows two Remote Desktop connections at the same time for administration, without extra licences. If more people need to work on the server at once, it needs the Remote Desktop Session Host role and Remote Desktop Services client access licences (RDS CALs), which are licensed separately.

Is the Windows licence included?

Yes. The Windows Server licence is included in the VPS Pro and Elite prices on this page. Other Microsoft licences, such as RDS CALs for more Remote Desktop users or SQL Server, are not included.

Which Windows Server version do you install?

Tell us the version you need in your setup ticket, and our engineers confirm what is available before installing.

How many people can use Remote Desktop at once?

Two administrator connections at the same time, without extra licences. More simultaneous users need the Remote Desktop Session Host role and RDS CALs, licensed separately.

Why is Windows only on VPS Pro and Elite?

The Windows desktop, updates and applications need more memory and CPU than a typical Linux server, so we offer Windows on the plans with 16 GB RAM or more.

Can I connect from a Mac or a phone?

Yes. Microsoft’s Remote Desktop apps are available for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.

Is the Windows Server setup really free?

Yes. Once your VPS is active, open a Technical Support ticket from the client area and our engineers do a basic Windows Server setup with standard settings at no extra cost. Custom work, such as setting up IIS sites or SQL Server, is billed from $8 per 15 minutes or $28 per hour.

How fast is the VPS ready?
