THE HUB OF ANZ HOSTING

Latency ANZ Apps.

Sydney is the natural hosting hub for Australia and New Zealand, keeping your server close to a local audience instead of adding the extra distance to Asia, Europe, or the Americas. Plans start at $193 a month for an Intel Xeon D-1541 with 64 GB RAM.

WHY AUSTRALIA

Why Host in Australia?

For a business whose customers are mainly in Australia or New Zealand, a local server removes the added distance of hosting on another continent.

  • ANZ Connectivity Hub

Sydney is the primary hosting hub for the Australia and New Zealand region, giving a direct, local path to that audience rather than routing through Asia or the United States.

  • Privacy Act 1988

The Privacy Act 1988 and its Australian Privacy Principles set the relevant data protection standard for Australian businesses, covering how personal information must be secured and how it may be used.

  • Regional Audience Fit

A strong default for ecommerce, gaming, and SaaS businesses whose customers are concentrated in Australia or New Zealand.

DATA PROTECTION & COMPLIANCE

What Australian Privacy Law
Actually Asks For.

Many buyers choose a server in Australia because of local privacy expectations. Here is what the law says, in plain words.

Australia's main privacy law is the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). It sets out 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) covering how personal information is collected, used, stored and disclosed, and applies to most Australian Government agencies and larger private sector organisations, as well as some smaller ones depending on what they do.

The Privacy Act does not generally force you to keep personal information inside Australia. Instead, APP 8 covers cross-border disclosure: before disclosing personal information to an overseas recipient, an entity must generally take reasonable steps to ensure that recipient does not breach the APPs, unless an exception applies. It is a disclosure safeguard, not a storage ban.

An Australia server keeps personal information inside the country by default, which sidesteps the APP 8 cross-border analysis entirely for data that never leaves, gives low latency for users in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand, and gives Australian customers a straightforward answer about where their data lives. It is a practical choice, not a legal requirement.

A server in Australia gives you a hosting location inside the country. It does not by itself make your organisation Privacy Act compliant: compliance is the entity's responsibility, not the host's. Your collection notices, consent, access controls and retention policy still matter. We don't claim otherwise.

Read this section as general information only. It is not legal advice, and decisions about your Privacy Act obligations belong with a qualified privacy professional.

Australia Data Checklist

  • Privacy Act 1988 & 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) apply
  • Processing remains inside Australian jurisdiction by default
  • No overseas disclosure for data that stays in Australia
  • Low latency across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane & New Zealand
  • Entity retains responsibility for overall Privacy Act compliance

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the plans, support and billing.

Plans run from $193 to $258 a month across 3 configurations, billed monthly with no setup fee. Each plan in the table above lists its CPU, RAM, storage, bandwidth, IPs and locations.

Every plan on this page is in Sydney, Australia. The location is fixed once the server is delivered.

Sydney's local connectivity gives strong performance across Australia and into nearby New Zealand.

Infrastructure hosted in Australia sits within the jurisdiction of the Privacy Act 1988, though meeting its Australian Privacy Principles also depends on how you configure and operate your own application.

Yes, Sydney is a well positioned hub for serving both Australian and New Zealand audiences from one location.

It works for a mixed audience, though a business serving the wider Asia Pacific region alongside Australia may find our Singapore location a better single choice.

Each Sydney plan has a 10 TB monthly allowance on a 250 Mbps port. Use more than that and the port speed is reduced until the month rolls over, so there is no surprise bill.

Describe the problem in a portal ticket and an engineer will tell you which side of the line it falls on. Short, contained requests usually stay inside basic support, while anything that turns into a project is quoted as an expert add on, and nothing is charged unless you accept the quote.

Dedicated servers are delivered within 2 to 46 business hours of payment, depending on the location and server type. Business hours are our billing office's working hours in India (IST), excluding public holidays.

No. Dedicated servers are not covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee, because the hardware is set up for you. The conditions are in section 8 of our Terms and Conditions, so ask us before you order if you are unsure which plan fits.

No. The location is fixed when you order. To use another location, order a new server there, move your data and cancel the old one (Appendix B.8 of our terms).

Each plan in the table lists its usable IPv4 addresses. IPs are final once the server is delivered (Appendix B.7 of our terms). Extra subnets from /29 to /24 can be ordered separately, each with its own gateway.

No. These plans don't include a DDoS mitigation service. If you need one, ask us before you order and we will tell you which locations can offer it.

Yes. Port 25 is open and dedicated servers have no fixed sending limit. Spam, unsolicited mail and other mail abuse are prohibited under sections 3 and 7 of our Acceptable Use Policy.

Where the data centre offers it, IPMI or KVM console access is usually available free on request. On Supermicro servers the BMC licence for HTML5 virtual media is activated, so you can mount an ISO from your browser.

No. You are responsible for backups on a dedicated server (section 5 of our terms). Our engineers can set up a backup routine for you as on-demand work.

Yes. Every self-managed Australia dedicated server includes Free Basic Managed Support: complimentary, best-effort help from our support team with quick tasks of about 5 minutes, such as boot and access checks, OS reinstalls, IP and DNS pointing and first-level troubleshooting. You keep full root access and control.

Yes. Hire a Ucartz engineer only when you need one, from $8 per 15 minutes or $28 per hour, or on a monthly plan. There is no long-term contract, and you can stop the extra support as soon as the work is done.

Yes. Our team deploys private LLMs, n8n workflow automation and custom build systems on your own server, then hands everything over with documentation.
