Netherlands Dedicated Server Hosting
for Western Europe.
Amsterdam is home to AMS-IX, one of the largest internet exchange points in the world, and acts as a primary landing point for transatlantic cables. Dedicated servers start at $79 a month for an Intel Xeon E3-1230v6 with 16 GB DDR4 ECC RAM, a 1 TB SATA disk, unmetered connectivity on a 1 Gbps port with a 100 TB monthly allowance, and our 99.9% uptime SLA.
Amsterdam Performance, Expert Help Without the Contract
European SaaS and streaming teams usually know their stack well. What they want from a host is room to run it their way, and specialists on tap for the busy weeks.
Full Control, Optional Expertise
You get full root access on your Amsterdam server. Small fixes are handled at no extra charge. For larger jobs, hire an engineer on demand by the hour or add monthly management anytime without lock-in.
One Account for Europe and Beyond
Pair your Amsterdam server with Warsaw, Singapore or another region and every one of them sits in the same Ucartz account and on one bill. Our datacenter locations overview maps them all out.
24/7 Team for European & Remote Staff
An engineer is on the client portal at ucartz.com/clients whatever the hour in Amsterdam. With a service down, the quickest route is a portal ticket followed by a WhatsApp or live chat message that quotes its ID.
Western European Value
You pay nothing to have the server set up, and $79 a month is the flat starting point.
Why Host in the Netherlands?
Amsterdam's position as one of Europe's most connected cities makes it a strong default choice for any business serving a broad European audience.
-
Amsterdam Connectivity
AMS-IX carries hundreds of connected networks and multiple terabits per second of peak traffic, and Amsterdam's location gives fast reach into London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Brussels.
-
GDPR Compliance & EU Protection
Servers hosted in the Netherlands sit inside the European Union and fall under GDPR by default, useful for any business that needs to demonstrate customer data stays inside the EU.
-
Central European Hub
A practical default for reaching Western and Central Europe from a single location, rather than choosing between several smaller national data centers.
Core DC
What EU Data Law Actually Asks For.
Many buyers choose a server in the Netherlands because of EU data protection expectations. Here is what the law actually says, in plain words, without overstating it.
The Netherlands is an EU member state, so the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) applies directly, alongside the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act (Uitvoeringswet AVG). Together they set out how personal data of people in the EU must be collected, used, stored and protected, for any organisation processing that data, wherever it or its servers are based.
GDPR does not force you to keep personal data inside the Netherlands, or even inside the EU. Data moves freely within the European Economic Area, and can be transferred to a third country where adequate safeguards are in place, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.
A Netherlands server keeps your processing inside the EEA by default, which removes a cross-border transfer question for most EU customers, gives very low latency across Western Europe and the UK thanks to the country's dense network connectivity, and gives EU customers a straightforward answer about where their data lives. It is a practical choice, not a legal requirement.
A server in the Netherlands gives you a hosting location inside the EU. It does not by itself make your organisation GDPR compliant: compliance is the data controller's responsibility, not the host's. Your lawful basis, consent records, access controls and retention policy still matter. We don't claim otherwise.
Read this section as general information only. It is not legal advice, and decisions about your GDPR obligations belong with a qualified data protection professional.
Netherlands Data Checklist
- EU GDPR & Dutch GDPR Implementation Act (Uitvoeringswet AVG) apply
- Processing remains inside the European Economic Area (EEA)
- Simplifies cross-border transfer questions for EU clients
- Dense network connectivity for low latency across Western Europe & UK
- Data controller retains responsibility for overall compliance
