How to Enable or Disable APIC, ACPI, and VNC in Virtualizor

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: Virtualizor VPS panel (end user)

ACPI and APIC are low-level settings that let the operating system talk to the virtual hardware. ACPI must be on for a clean shutdown with Stop. VNC turns the browser console on or off.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Ucartz client area, open Services › My Services and click your VPS. The Virtualizor VPS dashboard is on the service page. (You can also log in to the Virtualizor panel directly with the address in your VPS welcome email and open the VPS from List VPS.)
  2. Open VPS Configuration on the management page.
  3. Switch ACPI, APIC or VNC on or off, and save.
  4. Stop and then Start the VPS from the panel so the change takes effect.

Note: Leave ACPI and APIC on for modern Linux and Windows systems; turning them off can stop the VPS from booting or shutting down properly. Only change them if our support team or your OS vendor asks you to.
