How to Reinstall Your VPS OS Using the Virtualizor Automatic OS Installer

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 11 October 2026 · Applies to: Virtualizor VPS panel (end user)

Reinstalling gives you a fresh operating system. Everything on the VPS disk is erased; your IP addresses stay the same.

Steps

  1. Back up any files and databases you need.
  2. Log in to the Ucartz client area, open Services › My Services and click your VPS. The Virtualizor VPS dashboard is on the service page. (You can also log in to the Virtualizor panel directly with the address in your VPS welcome email and open the VPS from List VPS.)
  3. Click OS Re-Install.
  4. Choose the Linux distribution, then the version.
  5. Enter the new root password and click Reinstall. If there is a Format Primary Disk Only option, it keeps the data on additional disks.

The reinstall takes a few minutes. Then log in over SSH with the new password.
