Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: Virtualizor VPS panel (end user)
There are two ways to switch a VPS off:
- Stop: asks the operating system to shut down cleanly, like pressing the power button. Use this normally.
- Power Off: cuts the power immediately, like pulling the plug. Use it only when Stop does not work, because unsaved data can be lost.
Steps
- Log in to the Ucartz client area, open Services › My Services and click your VPS. The Virtualizor VPS dashboard is on the service page. (You can also log in to the Virtualizor panel directly with the address in your VPS welcome email and open the VPS from List VPS.)
- Click Stop (or Power Off if the VPS does not respond) and confirm.
Note: A stopped VPS stays off until you start it again; its IP addresses and data are kept.
