How to Set Up an Automatic Timer for VPS Shutdown, Start, or Reboot in Virtualizor

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: Virtualizor VPS panel (end user)

Virtualizor can shut down, start or restart your VPS automatically at a time you choose, for example a weekly restart at night. This feature is called Self Shutdown and is available when the administrator has enabled it.

Steps

  1. Log in to the Ucartz client area, open Services › My Services and click your VPS. The Virtualizor VPS dashboard is on the service page. (You can also log in to the Virtualizor panel directly with the address in your VPS welcome email and open the VPS from List VPS.)
  2. Open Self Shutdown on the management page.
  3. Choose the action (for example shut down, start or restart) and the date and time.
  4. Add the entry. It appears in the list of scheduled actions.

Note: Times are in the server's time zone. A scheduled shutdown stops every service on the VPS until it is started again.
