How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: cPanel & WHM 138 (Jupiter theme)

A subdomain is an address in front of your domain, such as blog.example.com, with its own folder.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Domains › Domains and click Create A New Domain.
  3. Enter the full subdomain, for example blog.example.com.
  4. Untick Share document root and check the folder cPanel suggests.
  5. Click Submit.

Upload the subdomain's files to that folder. If your domain uses this server's nameservers, the subdomain works within minutes.

In current cPanel versions, addon domains, subdomains and aliases (parked domains) are all managed in Domains › Domains.
