Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: cPanel & WHM 138 (Jupiter theme)

Create FTP accounts to upload files with a program such as FileZilla. Each account can be limited to one folder, which is useful for developers.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Files › FTP Accounts.
  3. Enter the Log In name and choose the Domain. The full username becomes name@example.com.
  4. Enter a strong password twice.
  5. Set the Directory the account may access, for example public_html for the whole website.
  6. Set a Quota or choose Unlimited, and click Create FTP Account.

Click Configure FTP Client next to the account to see the server name and port, or download a configuration file for FileZilla.
