A full backup is a single archive of your whole cPanel account: website files, databases, email accounts and settings. Keep a copy on your own computer or cloud storage before big changes.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Files › Backup.
  3. Under Full Backup, click Download a Full Account Backup.
  4. Set Backup Destination to Home Directory.
  5. Enter an email address to be told when the backup is ready, then click Generate Backup.
  6. When the email arrives, go back to Files › Backup. The file appears under Backups Available for Download with a name like backup-6.15.2026_10-30-00_username.tar.gz. Click it to download.

Note: The archive counts towards your disk quota while it stays in your home directory. Delete it with Files › File Manager once you have downloaded it.

Note: A full backup cannot be restored from inside cPanel. To restore one, open a support ticket; you can restore parts of it yourself (see "How to Restore a Website Backup Using cPanel").
