Updated: 8 October 2026 · Applies to: Ucartz client area (WHMCS 9), cPanel hosting and reseller accounts
To reset your cPanel password, log in to the Ucartz client area, open Services › My Services, click the hosting service and choose Change Password. Enter the new password in New Password and Confirm New Password and save. You do not need the old password.
Steps
- Log in to the Ucartz client area at https://www.ucartz.com/clients/. If you forgot the client area password too, click Forgot Password? on the login page and follow Request a Password Reset first.
- Open Services › My Services and click your cPanel hosting (or reseller) service.
- Choose Change Password. The page explains: "From here you can change the password of the product/service (note: this does not affect your password for our client area)".
- Type a new password in New Password and again in Confirm New Password.
- Save. The client area sends the new password to the server, and a success message appears at the top of the page.
What the new password changes
- cPanel login: use the new password with your cPanel username.
- Main FTP account: if you connect over FTP with the cPanel username, use the new password there too.
- Reseller accounts: the same steps change the password you use for WHM and cPanel on that reseller account.
- Not changed: your client area password, the passwords of email accounts you created (info@, sales@ and so on), and passwords of database users. Change a mailbox password in cPanel: see How to change the password for an email account in cPanel.
You may not need the password at all
Once you are logged in to the client area, the hosting service page gives you cPanel without a password: the Log in to cPanel button, and a Quick Shortcuts panel with Email Accounts, Forwarders, File Manager, Backup, Domains, Cron Jobs, MySQL Databases, phpMyAdmin and more. Each one opens that cPanel page already logged in. You only need the cPanel password for direct logins (for example https://yourdomain.com/cpanel) and for FTP.
Choosing a password the server accepts
cPanel servers require a strong password. If the change is refused, use a longer password (16 characters or more) that mixes upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols, and avoid your domain name, username or dictionary words. A password manager can create and store one for you.
If Change Password is missing or fails
- No Change Password option: it is shown for active cPanel services. Suspended or cancelled services do not have it. Pay any overdue invoice under Billing › My Invoices, or open a ticket.
- Error after saving: read the message at the top of the page. A weak password is the usual reason; try a stronger one.
- Still cannot log in: clear saved passwords in your browser or FTP program, which may keep sending the old one, then try again.
VPS and dedicated servers
On your own server with cPanel and WHM, the root password is not managed from the hosting service page. See Change a root password through WHM, or for a VPS How to reset the password of your VPS through Virtualizor.
