A CNAME record makes one name an alias of another, for example www pointing to your main domain, or a subdomain pointing to an outside service.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Domains › Zone Editor and click Manage next to the domain.
  3. Click the arrow next to + Add Record and choose CNAME. (You can also click + CNAME Record next to the domain on the main Zone Editor page.)
  4. In Name, enter the alias (for example blog.example.com.); in Record, enter the target hostname (for example example.hosted-service.com).
  5. Click Save Record.

Note: A name that has a CNAME cannot have other records, and the bare domain (example.com) cannot be a CNAME. Use an A record there instead.
