MultiPHP Manager sets the PHP version per domain. To run a different version in one folder, add a PHP handler to that folder's .htaccess file.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Files › File Manager, enable Settings › Show Hidden Files (dotfiles), and go to the folder.
  3. Create or edit .htaccess in that folder and add the block below, with the version you need (ea-php81, ea-php82, ea-php83 and so on):
    <IfModule mime_module>
      AddHandler application/x-httpd-ea-php81 .php .php8 .phtml
    </IfModule>
  4. Save the file. Create a file with <?php phpinfo(); in the folder, open it in a browser to confirm the version, then delete it.

Note: This works when PHP-FPM is off for the domain. With PHP-FPM, the domain's version applies to every folder; put the application on its own subdomain instead, or ask support.
