Add new addon domain under cpanel

An addon domain lets you host a second, fully separate website under the same cPanel account, each with its own folder and its own public content, as long as your hosting plan allows more than one domain. Add one under Domains, then Addon Domain in cPanel.

Steps

1. Log in to cPanel.
2. Go to Domains, then Addon Domain.
3. Enter the New Domain Name you are adding.
4. cPanel fills in a Document Root automatically, by default a new folder under public_html named after the domain; change it if you want a different location.
5. cPanel also requires a username and password for an FTP account it creates alongside the addon domain. Most people never actually use this account day to day, but cPanel still requires the fields to be filled in to continue.
6. Click Add Domain.

Point the domain's DNS at your server

Adding the domain in cPanel only sets it up on the server itself; the domain's own DNS, at wherever it is registered, needs to point at your server (usually by using your hosting account's name servers, or an A record pointing at the server's IP) before the site is actually reachable at that domain from outside.

Upload the site's files

Once DNS has propagated, upload the new site's files into the document root you set above, the same way as any other site, through File Manager or FTP/SFTP.

Check how many addon domains your plan allows

If Addon Domain refuses to let you add another, your hosting package has reached its limit. Check your current plan's addon domain allowance under your hosting provider's client area, or ask support directly.
