Updated: 11 October 2026 · Applies to: cPanel & WHM 138 (Jupiter theme)
cPanel shows "Domain already exists, it was not added" when the domain, or a subdomain created for it, is still configured somewhere on the server. It often happens when you remove an addon domain and add it again.
Fix
- Log in to cPanel (for example at
https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area). - Open Domains › Domains and look for the domain, and for subdomains of your main domain with a similar name (older cPanel versions created one for every addon domain, such as
newdomain.maindomain.com). - Remove the leftover entry with Manage › Remove Domain.
- Add the domain again.
If the domain is not in your account at all, it may be set up in another account on the server; see "Trying to park yourdomain.com, but it says this domain name is owned by another user", or open a support ticket.
