Security concern about control panel password being displayed in client area

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 11 October 2026

Your client area login password is never stored in readable form: it is kept as a one-way hash, and nobody at Ucartz can see it.

Passwords for services such as cPanel or a VPS are different. The system stores them encrypted (not hashed), because it has to use them: to send them in your welcome email and to log you in to cPanel automatically from the client area.

Good practice

  • Change the service password after you receive your welcome email.
  • If you change a password directly on the server (for example with passwd over SSH), the one shown in the client area is no longer correct. Change passwords from the client area, so both stay in step.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication for your client area account.
