On CloudLinux servers, each user's PHP Selector choices (PHP version, extensions and options) are stored in their account. After restoring or migrating an account, apply them again as follows (as root, replace USERNAME).

  1. Restore the user's ~USERNAME/.cl.selector/ folder from the backup.
  2. Find the user's CageFS prefix:
    cagefsctl --getprefix USERNAME
  3. Remove the old generated PHP Selector files in the user's CageFS etc folder (/var/cagefs/PREFIX/USERNAME/etc/cl.selector and cl.php.d). Check the paths carefully first.
  4. Recreate the configuration:
    cagefsctl --force-update-etc USERNAME

Then check the site in cPanel under Software › Select PHP Version.
