Themes control how your WordPress site looks. You can install free themes from the WordPress.org directory from inside the dashboard.

Steps

  1. Log in to your WordPress dashboard (https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin).
  2. Open Appearance › Themes and click Add Theme.
  3. Browse or search. Hover over a theme and click Preview to try it.
  4. Click Install, then Activate.

Customise it under Appearance › Editor (block themes) or Appearance › Customize (classic themes).

Tip: Choose themes that are updated regularly and have good ratings, and keep a backup before switching themes on a live site.
