You cannot change your cPanel username yourself, but our team can change it for you.
How to request it
Open a support ticket from the client area with the current username (or the main domain) and the new username you want. Usernames can use lowercase letters and numbers, must start with a letter and can be up to 16 characters long.
What to check afterwards
- Log in to cPanel, FTP and SSH with the new username.
- Your home directory path changes from
/home/olduserto/home/newuser. Update scripts, cron jobs and configuration files that contain the full path. - Database and database user names that start with the old username may be renamed too. Check your applications' database settings.
Email accounts on your domains are not affected.
