Rename a table in phpMyAdmin when an application expects a different name, for example after changing a table prefix.

Steps

  1. Open phpMyAdmin (in cPanel: Databases › phpMyAdmin) and click the database in the left panel.
  2. Click the table and open the Operations tab.
  3. Under Table options, enter the new name in Rename table to.
  4. Click Go.

Note: Update the application to use the new name. For WordPress, changing the table prefix also needs changes inside the options and usermeta tables, so use a plugin or ask our team.
