How to set hostname in SonicPanel?

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 11 October 2026 · Applies to: SonicPanel

Set a host name on your SonicPanel server so it can use an SSL certificate and show a domain instead of an IP address.

Steps (root)

  1. Point a domain or subdomain (for example radio.example.com) to the server's IP address in DNS.
  2. Log in to SonicPanel as root.
  3. In SonicPanel Configurations, set your contact email.
  4. Click Change Hostname, enter the host name only (without http://) and save.
  5. Open SSL Certificates and click generate.
