On shared and reseller hosting plans with a monthly bandwidth limit, we notify you if the account exceeds its limit.

If you go over the limit

  • You can buy extra bandwidth or upgrade the plan from the client area.
  • If the account keeps exceeding the limit without an upgrade, it may be suspended until you take action.
  • A suspended account is reactivated at the start of the next month, or as soon as you upgrade or pay for the extra bandwidth.

Plans described as unmetered or unlimited have no fixed transfer cap for normal website use, but are still subject to fair use and the resource limits in our Acceptable Use Policy.

Tip: Check your usage any time in cPanel under Metrics › Bandwidth. Large downloads, videos and bots are the usual causes of high bandwidth; a CDN or moving large files elsewhere helps.
