LAME is an MP3 encoder, used by many audio and streaming tools.

Install (root)

dnf install lame     # AlmaLinux / Rocky, from the RPM Fusion repository
apt install lame                                 # Ubuntu / Debian

Check with lame --version. To convert a WAV file: lame -b 128 input.wav output.mp3.
