How to fix Permission denied issue while installing Centova Cast?

Updated 1 min read

Updated: 11 October 2026 · Applies to: Centova Cast v3

"Permission denied" when running the Centova Cast installer usually means you are not root, or the installer file is not executable.

Fix

  1. Log in as root (or run sudo -i first).
  2. Make the installer executable and run it again:
    chmod +x install.sh
    ./install.sh

If it still fails, check that the file system allows running programs (for example /tmp mounted with noexec): move the installer to /root and run it from there.
