Each domain in cPanel can use a different PHP version.

Check the version

  • In cPanel, open Software › MultiPHP Manager. The PHP Version column shows the version for each domain.
  • For full details, create a phpinfo() page (see "Creating PHP info files").
  • In Terminal, php -v shows the default command-line version.

Change the version

In Software › MultiPHP Manager, tick the domain, choose the version and click Apply. On CloudLinux servers, use Software › Select PHP Version.

Tip: Use the newest version your application supports; older PHP versions no longer get security fixes.
