The Disk Usage tool shows what takes up space in your account, so you can clean up before you reach your plan's limit.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Files › Disk Usage.
  3. The chart at the top shows the space used by your folders, databases, email and other data.
  4. Scroll down to the folder list. Click a folder to see its subfolders, and sort by size to find the biggest.
  5. Remove what you no longer need in Files › File Manager.

Common causes of full disks

  • Old backup archives in your home directory or in a plugin's backup folder.
  • Large error_log files created by PHP errors.
  • Cache folders of CMS plugins.
  • Mailboxes: check Email › Email Disk Usage to see and clean the largest ones.

Note: Disk usage figures are recalculated periodically, so a clean-up may take a little while to show.
