Can I run a phpbb forum (message board) on my site?

Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: phpBB 3.3 on cPanel & WHM 138 (Jupiter theme)

Yes. phpBB is a free, open-source forum application that runs on PHP and MySQL/MariaDB, which all our cPanel hosting plans include.

Install it in a few clicks

1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
2. Open Softaculous Apps Installer and search for phpBB.
3. Click Install, choose the domain and folder (for example forum), and set the admin username and password.
4. Click Install. The forum is ready at the address shown.

You can also download phpBB from phpbb.com and install it manually with a database created in Databases › Database Wizard.

Tip: Keep phpBB and its extensions updated, and turn on its anti-spam options (such as the Q&A or reCAPTCHA check at registration), as forums attract spam bots.
