Updated: 3 November 2026 · Applies to: Zamfoo, a third-party WHM add-on

Zamfoo is a third-party plugin that adds sub-reseller management on top of WHM, letting a reseller create their own Master Reseller or Alpha Reseller accounts underneath their own. It is not built, sold or supported by cPanel itself, and a Rack911 Labs security advisory has previously documented multiple reseller-related vulnerabilities in it. If you are evaluating what to use for sub-reseller hosting rather than already running Zamfoo, weigh that history before choosing it.

Creating a Zamfoo reseller package

  1. Log in to WHM.
  2. Go to Packages, then Add a Package.
  3. Create a package intended for a Reseller or Master Reseller account, setting its resource limits the same way as any other WHM package.
  4. Go to the Zamfoo section in WHM: Zamfoo: Master Reseller or Zamfoo: Alpha Reseller, depending on which tier you are setting up.
  5. Open Set/Remove Master Autogrant. If you are an Alpha Reseller creating a Master Reseller, use this under the Master Reseller section; if you are a Master Reseller or Alpha Reseller creating a plain Reseller, use it under the Reseller section instead.
  6. Select the package you just created from the list, then click the button to auto-grant rights for it.

Creating the account itself

  1. In WHM, go to Create a New Account.
  2. Fill in the account details and choose the package you created and auto-granted above.
  3. Click Create.

The new account is created with the reseller or sub-reseller privileges the Zamfoo package granted it.
