cPanel's File Manager includes a text editor, so you can change HTML, PHP, CSS or configuration files without downloading them.

Steps

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Files › File Manager and go to the folder with the file.
  3. Right-click the file and choose Edit, or select it and click Edit in the toolbar.
  4. If a character encoding dialog appears, keep utf-8 and click Edit.
  5. Make your changes and click Save Changes. Close the editor tab when you are done.

Tip: Before editing an important file, right-click it and choose Copy to keep a spare copy such as config.php.bak. For hidden files like .htaccess, first enable Settings › Show Hidden Files (dotfiles).
