Plesk is a web hosting control panel for Linux and Windows servers. Plesk Onyx has been replaced by Plesk Obsidian 18, the current version, which is updated continuously.
What Plesk does
- Manages websites, domains, DNS, mail, databases, FTP and SSL certificates from one web interface.
- Separates customers into subscriptions, with service plans and limits, for web hosting providers and agencies.
- Runs on Linux (AlmaLinux, Ubuntu, Debian and others) and on Windows Server (with IIS and MSSQL).
Main features in Plesk Obsidian
- WP Toolkit: install, update, clone and secure WordPress sites, with staging and smart updates.
- Free SSL from Let's Encrypt with automatic renewal, including wildcard certificates.
- Git, Node.js, PHP versions and Docker support for developers; Laravel Toolkit as an extension.
- Backup Manager: scheduled full and incremental backups, also to remote storage.
- Security: firewall, Fail2Ban, ModSecurity and extensions such as Imunify.
- Advisor: suggestions to improve security and performance.
Editions
- Web Admin: for managing a limited number of your own sites.
- Web Pro: for web professionals with more domains.
- Web Host: unlimited domains, for hosting providers and resellers.
Ucartz sells cPanel and Plesk licences (see Web Hosting Licenses) and offers managed servers with the panel already set up.
