BoxTrapper is a challenge-response spam filter. When someone who is not on your whitelist emails you, BoxTrapper holds the message and asks the sender to confirm by replying. Mail from confirmed senders is delivered.

Turn it on

  1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
  2. Open Email › BoxTrapper.
  3. Click Manage next to the email address.
  4. Click Enable.

Set it up

  • Configure Settings: the addresses BoxTrapper answers for, and how long held messages are kept.
  • Edit Confirmation Messages: the text senders receive.
  • Edit White/Black/Ignore Lists: always allow, always reject or silently drop senders.
  • Review All Messages: the queue of held mail, where you can deliver or delete messages.

Note: BoxTrapper adds work for senders, and automated mail such as receipts or password resets can get stuck. Whitelist the services you use, and consider Email › Spam Filters first.
