ngx_pagespeed (Google's PageSpeed module for Nginx) is no longer developed, and the control panels this guide covered (VestaCP) are abandoned. Installing it on a current server is not recommended.
The same speed gains come from standard Nginx features: compression, browser caching of static files, page caching, optimised images and a CDN. See "How to install Nginx 1.12 with PageSpeed module on CentOS 7?" for a short replacement configuration.
If a site still has PageSpeed, turn it off with pagespeed off; in the server block before removing the module.
