Call to undefined function curl_init() | WHM

Call to undefined function curl_init() means the PHP curl extension is not loaded for the PHP version your site uses. Many applications need it to connect to other services (payment gateways, APIs, updates).

cPanel & WHM server (root)

1. In WHM, open Software › EasyApache 4.
2. Click Customize next to the current profile and open PHP Extensions.
3. Search for curl and enable it for each PHP version you use (for example ea-php83-php-curl).
4. Click Review, then Provision.

Or from SSH: dnf install ea-php83-php-curl. Check with /opt/cpanel/ea-php83/root/usr/bin/php -m | grep -i curl.

cPanel account (CloudLinux PHP Selector)

If your hosting shows Software › Select PHP Version in cPanel, open it, go to Extensions, and tick curl. The change applies at once.

Servers without cPanel

dnf install php-common && systemctl restart php-fpm        # AlmaLinux / Rocky (curl is part of php-common)
apt install php8.3-curl && systemctl restart php8.3-fpm   # Ubuntu 24.04

If the error remains, check which PHP version the site uses in Software › MultiPHP Manager and enable curl for that version.

Note: On Ucartz shared and reseller hosting you cannot install server software yourself. If an extension is not available in Software › Select PHP Version or Software › MultiPHP INI Editor, open a ticket and our support team will check it for you.
