These servers have two drives of the same size. On request we set them up as software RAID 1: both drives hold the same data, so the server keeps running if one drive fails, and usable space becomes the size of one drive. RAID protects against a failed drive, not against deleted files or a bad update, so keep a backup of your data as well.

Your Own Tools, Seen Only by You.
Instead of paying several services that each see your traffic or your files, run the same tools on one server that only you log in to, often for less than the subscriptions cost together.
Your own VPN
Connect your laptop, phone or office to your server with WireGuard or OpenVPN. No VPN company sits in the middle, so nobody else sees where you go or keeps a log of it. For you and your team only: public VPN services and exit nodes are not allowed.
Private backups
Back up your other servers, websites and computers with encrypted tools such as restic or BorgBackup. You hold the encryption keys, so the files are unreadable to anyone else.
Your own cloud storage
Files, photos, calendars and contacts in Nextcloud on your server, instead of keeping them on a storage company's servers.

You get the root password on delivery. Change it on day one and our staff have no login. We step in only when you open a ticket and ask, when we receive an abuse report, or when the law requires it, as our terms and Acceptable Use Policy set out.
