Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: CloudLinux OS

A "508 Resource Limit Is Reached" (or 503) error on CloudLinux servers means the account hit one of its LVE limits, most often the number of simultaneous processes (entry processes).

Find the cause (root)

lveinfo --period=1d --by-fault=mep --display-username

This lists users who reached the entry process limit in the last day. Use --by-fault=cpu or mem for other limits.

Fix

  • Reduce slow requests: caching, fewer heavy plugins, fixing slow queries, blocking bad bots.
  • Raise the account's limits in CloudLinux Manager if the plan allows it.

Shared hosting customers can check their own usage in cPanel under Resource Usage.
