Joomla no longer includes a polls component: it was part of Joomla 1.5 and was removed from later versions. To run polls on a current Joomla site, use a poll extension.
Add polls to Joomla
- Find a poll or voting extension in the Joomla Extensions Directory (
extensions.joomla.org) that supports your Joomla version. - Log in to the Joomla administrator (
https://yourdomain.com/administrator). - Go to System › Install › Extensions and upload the extension package (or install from the web).
- Create a poll in the extension's component, and publish its module in a position on your site.
Tip: Choose an extension that is updated regularly and has good reviews; outdated extensions are a common way Joomla sites get hacked.
