PHP can show errors in the browser and write them to error_log files. On a live website, errors should not be shown to visitors, because they reveal details of your code. Keep logging on, so you can still find problems.
Hide errors from visitors
- Log in to cPanel (for example at
https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area). - Open Software › MultiPHP INI Editor.
- On the Basic Mode tab, choose the domain.
- Set display_errors to Disabled.
- Click Apply.
Log fewer errors, or stop logging
Switch to the Editor Mode tab, choose the domain and add or change these lines, then click Save:
error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_DEPRECATED & ~E_NOTICE ; log_errors = Off (remove the semicolon to stop logging completely)
We do not recommend switching logging off: the log is how you find broken plugins. Fix the errors instead, or delete old error_log files now and then.
Note: Some applications set their own error settings. In WordPress, check that define('WP_DEBUG', true); is not left in wp-config.php. On CloudLinux servers the same options are in Software › Select PHP Version › Options.
