Here is how to create a radio station in AzuraCast, then create a user and give them permissions for it.
1. Create the station
From the administrator menu (top right), go to Station, then choose the option to add a new station. Fill in its details across these sections:
- Station Profile: name, description, genre, website URL, time zone, whether the public page is enabled, the advanced URL stub, and how many recently played songs to show.
- Broadcasting: choose Icecast 2.4, SHOUTcast DNAS 2 (both run on your own server), or connect to a remote radio server, plus the broadcasting port, maximum listeners, source password and administrator password.
- AutoDJ: the AutoDJ service, crossfade method, compression and normalization, whether song requests are allowed (and their minimum delay and last-played threshold), whether streamers/DJs are allowed, and the live broadcast recording format and bitrate.
- Administration: whether broadcasting is enabled, and the storage quota.
2. Set permissions for the station
Go to the user section and open Permissions.
Give the permission set a role name, choose the permissions for the station, then click Save Changes.
3. Create the user account
Go to the user section and choose Add User.
Enter the user's name, email address, and the role (the permission set you created above), then click Save Changes.
That is it: the station is created, its permission set is defined, and the user who manages it is set up. If you need help setting up AzuraCast, hire our experts.
