To connect to your cPanel hosting over FTP you need an FTP program, the server name, a username and a password.
Settings
- Host: your domain name (for example
ftp.yourdomain.com) or the server name shown in cPanel. - Port:
21, with explicit FTP over TLS encryption. - Username: your cPanel username (access to your whole home folder), or an FTP account in the form
name@yourdomain.com. - Password: the cPanel password, or the password of that FTP account.
Steps
- Install an FTP program such as FileZilla or WinSCP.
- Enter the settings above and connect.
- Open
public_htmland upload your website there.
Tip: cPanel shows the exact settings for each account under Files › FTP Accounts › Configure FTP Client. If you have not pointed your domain to us yet, use the server's IP address as the host.
