Browsers warn that a connection is not private when the SSL certificate does not match the address you typed. With cPanel this usually happens when you open https://your-server-ip:2083 or a domain that has no certificate yet.
How to connect without the warning
- Use your domain's service subdomains, for example
https://cpanel.yourdomain.com,https://webmail.yourdomain.comorhttps://whm.yourdomain.com. AutoSSL includes them in the domain's free certificate once the domain points to the server. - Or use the server's hostname (for example
https://server.example.net:2083), which has its own valid certificate. - Ucartz customers can also open cPanel from the client area, which uses a valid address.
Note: Accept the browser warning only if you are sure you are on your own server, for example right after setup. Never do it on public Wi-Fi.
