Saving your website in FileZilla's Site Manager means you can connect with one click, with the right encryption settings.
Steps
- In FileZilla, open File › Site Manager.
- Click New site and give it a name.
- Set Protocol to FTP - File Transfer Protocol and Encryption to Require explicit FTP over TLS. (If you have SSH access, you can choose SFTP and port 22 instead.)
- Enter the Host (your domain or the server name from cPanel's Configure FTP Client) and port
21. - Set Logon Type to Normal and enter your FTP username (for FTP accounts, the full
name@yourdomain.com) and password. - Click Connect. The first time, FileZilla shows the server's certificate; tick to trust it and click OK.
Your files are on the right; open public_html to work on your website.
Tip: If the connection hangs while listing folders, open the site's Transfer Settings tab and set the transfer mode to Passive.
