VICIdial is an open-source contact-centre suite with a predictive dialer, inbound and blended calls, recording and reports, built on Asterisk. CentOS 7 and Asterisk 13 are end of life. The recommended way to install VICIdial today is ViciBox, the official installation image (current stable version: ViciBox 12).

Requirements

  • A dedicated server is strongly recommended: a dialer needs accurate timing and steady CPU for audio. Small test systems can run on a VPS.
  • For a single server with up to about 20 to 25 agents: 4+ CPU cores, 8 GB RAM, SSD storage (recordings need extra space).
  • SIP trunks from a VoIP carrier.

Install with ViciBox

  1. Download the ViciBox 12 ISO from vicidial.org (download.vicidial.com).
  2. Boot the server from the ISO (on a dedicated server through its remote console, or ask our support team to mount it), and install. ViciBox is based on openSUSE Leap.
  3. After the first boot, log in as root and run vicibox-express for a single-server installation. It configures the database, web interface, Asterisk and VICIdial in one go.
  4. Open http://SERVER-IP/vicidial/admin.php and log in with the default admin account from the ViciBox documentation; change the password at once.

Secure it

  • Do not leave SIP (5060) and the web interface open to the whole internet; allow your carrier's and agents' IPs, or use ViciBox's dynamic firewall features.
  • Use HTTPS for the agent and admin interfaces.
  • Keep ViciBox updated.
