How to setup domain redirects in cPanel?

A redirect sends visitors from one address to another: a single old page to a new one, or a whole domain to another website.

Create a redirect

1. Log in to cPanel (for example at https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area).
2. Open Domains › Redirects.
3. Choose the type: Permanent (301) when the move is final (search engines move the ranking to the new address), or Temporary (302) for short-term changes.
4. Choose the domain. To redirect one page, enter its path after the slash, for example old-page.html. Leave it empty to redirect the whole domain.
5. Enter the full destination in Redirects to, including https://.
6. Choose a www. redirection option: Only redirect with www., Redirect with or without www. (usual) or Do Not Redirect www..
7. Tick Wild Card Redirect to send every page to the same path on the new site (for example /about to /about), then click Add.

Remove a redirect from the Current Redirects list with Delete.

Note: cPanel writes redirects to the .htaccess file in the domain's folder. Test them in a private browser window, because browsers remember 301 redirects.
