Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: cPanel & WHM 138 (Jupiter theme)
Current cPanel versions can rename a domain directly, keeping its folder and files.
Rename the domain
- Log in to cPanel (for example at
https://yourdomain.com:2083, or from the Ucartz client area). - Open Domains › Domains and click Manage next to the domain.
- Click Rename Domain.
- Enter the new domain name, tick the confirmation box and click Rename.
You can rename main, addon and alias (parked) domains, but not subdomains. The new name must not already exist on the server.
After renaming
- Point the new domain's nameservers to our servers.
- Update the site address in your application (for example Settings › General in WordPress).
- Check your email accounts and SSL certificate for the new name.
- Redirect the old domain to the new one if you keep it.
Note: If Rename Domain is not available in your cPanel, remove the domain (its folder and files stay on the server) and add the new domain with the same document root.
