Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: cPanel & WHM 138 (WHM, root access)

The message "ionCube Loader is not installed" means a PHP script was encoded with ionCube and the PHP version your site uses does not load the ionCube Loader.

On a server with WHM (root)

  1. Log in to WHM as root (https://your-server:2087).
  2. Open Software › EasyApache 4, click Customize and go to PHP Extensions.
  3. Search for ioncube and switch on the ionCube package for the PHP version the site uses.
  4. Click Review and Provision.

On CloudLinux

In cPanel, open Software › Select PHP Version, tick ioncube_loader and save.

On shared hosting

Open a support ticket with the domain name and we will enable it for you.

Note: ionCube Loader versions support specific PHP versions. If the script needs an older PHP, check the vendor's requirements before you change the site's PHP version.
