Updated: 28 September 2026 · Applies to: Plesk Obsidian 18 on AlmaLinux 9/10, Ubuntu 24.04/26.04 and Debian 12/13
CentOS 6 is long out of support, and current Plesk versions do not install on it. This guide installs Plesk Obsidian on a supported system.
Requirements
- A fresh server with AlmaLinux 9 or 10, Ubuntu 24.04 or 26.04, or Debian 12 or 13 (Plesk Obsidian also supports a few older releases, and Rocky Linux only in version 8).
- At least 1 GB RAM plus 1 GB swap and 20 GB disk; 2 GB RAM or more for real use.
- A hostname that resolves to the server, for example
server.example.com.
Note: Install a hosting control panel only on a freshly installed server. Panels configure the web server, mail, DNS and firewall themselves, and can break or be broken by software you installed earlier.
Install
sh <(curl https://autoinstall.plesk.com/one-click-installer || wget -O - https://autoinstall.plesk.com/one-click-installer)
The one-click installer sets up Plesk Obsidian with the recommended components. It takes 15 to 60 minutes. At the end it prints a login link; you can also open https://SERVER-IP:8443 and log in as root. The first screen asks for your contact details, the admin password and the licence (a trial is available).
Open ports 8443 (panel), 80/443 (websites), 21 (FTP), 25/465/587/993/995 (mail) and 53 (DNS) in any external firewall; Plesk configures the server's own firewall.
Ucartz sells cPanel and Plesk licences (see Web Hosting Licenses) and offers managed servers with the panel already set up.
