There is an information that XEN memory management could break TLS in glibc. Try to switch to non-tls i386 glibc. Run the following commands:

yum install yum-utils

yum downloader glibc.i386

rpm -Uvh --force glibc-2.5-65.i386.rpm

Then reboot.
